Miredita

Festival “Mirëdita, dobar dan!” is a cross-border cultural initiative dedicated to fostering dialogue, collaboration, and reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia through contemporary artistic and cultural production. The project focuses on strengthening the festival’s sustainability while expanding its programmatic, curatorial, and communication capacities in a complex socio-political context.

The partner organisations worked closely together to design and shape the 2025 edition of the festival, aligning its programmatic vision, artist selection, communication approach, and implementation strategy. This collaborative process resulted in the development of the “How to MDD” Festival Handbook, a structured internal roadmap that systematises institutional knowledge and provides a sustainable model for future editions.

The 2025 edition of the festival, held in Prishtina from 20–22 November, delivered a rich and diverse programme of 10 cultural events, including exhibitions, performances, debates, film screenings, and literary formats.

A strong emphasis was placed on youth engagement and mentorship. Thirty young activists from Serbia and Kosovo participated in the festival, while emerging artists were supported through a mentorship process that strengthened their professional capacities and contributed to the development of a co-produced multimedia exhibition. The project also ensured inclusive representation, engaging artists from diverse and marginalised communities.

By combining artistic production, public dialogue, and strategic capacity building, Mirëdita, dobar dan! continues to evolve as a vital platform for cultural cooperation and long-term reconciliation in the Western Balkans.

Implementing partners: Youth Initiative for Human Rights – YIHR (Serbia), Integra NGO (Kosovo) and Civic Initiatives (Serbia).

Festival “Mirëdita, dobar dan!” is supported by the British Council through the “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” project, funded by the European Union. CC4WBs aims to foster dialogue in the Western Balkans by enhancing the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact.
